Brownwood Regional Airport

Brownwood Regional Airport is located on U.S. 183, five miles North of Brownwood. It lies at an elevation of 1387 feet and covers 1400 acres.

The airport has two large commercial hangars, three “T” hangars, a patio type hangar, a terminal, and a FedEX facility. The terminal offers airport office services with pilot’s lounge, restrooms, snack area, and conference room. The airport is open from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. However, after hours Jet A service available upon request and 100LL available 24 hours/self-served.

There are currently 60 aircraft based at the airport. The main runway is 5600 feet long by 150 feet wide, with VOR/DME/LOC approaches. Texas Department of Transportation, Aviation Division named Brownwood Regional Airport the most improved airport in the State in 1998. The U.S. Government deeded the airport to the City of Brownwood after World War II. During the war, the U.S. Air Force used the airport for training and troop and materials transport. (There are static displays of a F-4 Phantom and a F-111 jets on the airport grounds.)

Even today, the airport stands ready to assist the U.S. Government. The 21st Calvary Brigade of the III Corps. U.S. Army, utilize the Airport as part of their flight training area for the Apache and Blackhawk helicopters.
