Getting to Know Brownwood
Brownwood High School Alumni

Brownwood High SchoolBrownwood High School is a special place for many people. If you went there, you know what we mean. It's not just Friday nights cheering for the Lions. It's not just singing the alma mater in the a cappella choir or being a couple of minutes late to class because you were visiting in the student center with friends. Brownwood High is the place where the community comes together.

It is an enormously important part of Brownwood. Its alumni are proud, its students are honorable and its future students are eager to be a part of it.

DID YOU KNOW?
by Veta Young

What do these people have in common?

Dennis and Daniel Bloom, twin brothers, put their own spin on multilevel marketing to build AmeriPlan USA Corp. into a $100 million-plus company.

John Harkey, Jr. and Gene Street, investors, entrepreneurs and adventurers. Partners in a billion-dollar restaurant holding company that evolved from a college business partnership and now feeds over 25 million people a year.

Roy Spence, Jr. and his partners founded GSD&M in 1971 straight out of college. After years of brainstorming and a thrilling journey, today GSD&M is a $1 billion advertising agency.

Drew Womack and Tim Womack, brothers and members of the new country group Sons of the Desert. Their group has just released one of the most exciting new country albums in years, its 12 songs testifying to the power of the group's collective spirit.

The answer is not just that they are from Texas but that they graduated from Brownwood High School. It still feels like home to them.
